Please welcome to Rachel Lynn Kehl. She was born early Sunday morning, November 23rd at 2:15am. She was 6lbs15oz. and 21" long. Saturday was a long day of pre-labor, but once we checked-in at the hospital at 11pm it was quick work (and easier with the epidural) from there! Thank you to the friends and family who stopped by while we were at our short stay at the hospital - checkout was Monday 12pm. The following week was a bit hectic with getting the whole baby-thing down while friends visit AND the double Thanksgiving we attended at Aunt Christy's late morning and Gma/Gpa Kehl's in the pm and Friday. Rachel was hapily passed around to all awaiting arms. Steve's brother Michael and family were also here from WA and sister Kathleen in from AZ. The cat is not sure about the noise maker - though she does enjoy the recilner in the baby's room! Toby dog is jealous but protective, barking at every knock and wanting to play catch at feeding time. Still trying to get the motivaton for a daily walk, but have managed a few other successful errands and visits with baby in tow. Daddy is very helpful with diaper changing, meal making, and around-the-house help while mama's busy feeding, catching up with sleep, and doing laundry (what a difference cloth diapers and baby clothes make to the wash load!). 2-week doctor visit this week confirmed her healthy and growing to 7lb11oz already! Rachel does smile though not predictably, and tracks voices and faces with her still blue eyes. She's very good with the concentrating/furrowed eye brow face and cute baby coos.
